Q. Why do narcissists seem so happy after discarding someone? (via Quora)
A. It all comes down to power. Narcissists have soul-shatteringly fragile egos. They are so insecure that they crave power, and they get that by putting others beneath them in any way possible.
To discard someone, to the narcissist, is to say, “I’m not fire — you’re fired!” which gives them a real sense of being in control of their world. This, of course, is probably the best possible outcome for the person they’ve discarded. So, really, who wins?
