If we want to build better partnerships, we can’t treat each other with passive-aggressive hostility.

Happy and healthy relationships require that we come to the table willing to be open and willing to be vulnerable. That’s challenging — especially when you’re dealing with difficult emotions like anger, sadness, or insecurity. In order to keep our relationships functional and joyful, we have to remove our tendency to avoid things or attach each other with passive-aggressive jabs. Getting there, though, requires mindful action and clear intention from all parties involved.
