We move through this life in various states of emotion. Being human successfully requires that we come to terms with those emotions and utilize them for our highest good. But that’s a hard integration to manage when we’re still uncertain and unsure about how we feel. Want to build relationships that are more rewarding? Do you to feel more at ease in yourself and your experiences (both the good and the bad)? It all has to begin with emotional awareness and being honest about the way we feel.
Are you hiding your emotions?
Hiding our emotions is something we’re conditioned to do some a very young age. Our parents — both in an effort to teach us social norms, and make their own lives convenient — show us to conceal how we really feel. For that reason, we never fully get to connect with and understand the depth and scope of our wide array of emotions. We opt to hide them instead, and that leads to a host of other problems and symptoms.
