Mental health is not an excuse to continue on in a toxic relationship. Just because someone suffers from mental health, it does not mean the rest of the world is entitled to be their punching bag. Sure we can have gentle and understanding conversations, but separation sometimes is still necessary.

When we suffer from mental health problems, the solutions are ours and ours alone. If our behaviour is toxic to those who love us, it can be in their best interest to walk away – and it’s sometimes the motivation we need to seek help.
