Think through what resolution you want, and why. Are you looking for an apology? An abuser isn’t likely to give you one. So what is the next best thing you can settle for? What is a form of closure and peace you can get from within?
It sounds like you’ve put space between you and your toxic family, and that’s precisely what it sounds like you need. Remember, healing is about you, your journey, and actions that make you feel better, safer, and happier — not worse. Will talking to them bring more pain than resolution? Move in the direction that has more light than darkness.
