Q. What should you do when your depression interferes with your relationships? (Not caring and not feeling like trying) via Quora

A. Your relationship won’t improve until you improve. A relationship won’t fix you. A partner won’t make you happy. You are the only person who can fix you, and that will only happen by taking action. If your depression is getting in the way of your partnership, then it’s important for you to seek help and treatment. You’ve got to put in the work to make things work.

If you find that you don’t think treatment is worthwhile, it may be time to ask yourself — do you really value the relationship at all? You’re the only person who can change your life, so it’s time to get started if you want to be happier.
